Harvest Festival 2009

Me and my personal chef!

Owen loved running through the maze at the Harvest Festival at church.

Tre, Mya, Gabe, Jake and Owen trick-or-treating. They were too funny! Owen would knock on a door or ring the doorbell and then try to open the door. Patience is not his thing. Whenever he got a piece of candy he would say, "Open it." Again, patience is not his thing.

We had a fun day. It started with a trip to Des Arc to attend Presley's 2nd birthday party. It was a beautiful day and a great party. We went home for a short rest before heading to the Harvest Festival at our church. There was a huge crowd-much bigger than last year. Then, we went to the Steelman's for some trick-or-treating and cupcakes. It was a fantastic day, but I sure am glad we're setting our clocks back one hour tonight-we're exhausted!

Blow Out The Candles!
He did it all by himself-such a big boy!

Mmmmm...Cake!

We had a fun day celebrating with family. Owen would periodically proclaim, "Happy Day!" We're certain he had a blast. Owen got some fun presents, so stay tuned for that post!

Thanks Grandpa David, Nana, Uncle Cade, Papa, Meme, Grandpa Bruce, Gran, Cha Cha Joe Joe and Auntie Ams for celebrating with us! We love you all!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, OWEN!!!

Today Owen turns TWO! We are having a small John Deere themed party here at the house with the grandparents. We will have some pictures for you after the festivities.

Wrestling!

This is Owen and Jake.
Boys like to attack each other.
Owen yells, 'TACKLES,' and then he pounces.
Laughing follows (most of the time). They love it.

Happy Fall!

Cheese!

Align CenterWaiting to go for a walk with Dee-Da
(that's what Owen calls Jacob-like Daddy-only backwards)

Jacob, Owen and I are loving the cooler weather! Fall is our favorite time of year. Well, Jacob says his favorite season is any season between October and April! We had an especially chilly weekend, so we put on our sweatshirts and had some fun outside. We cleaned out the garage, went for walks and played in the dirt. Notice in the picture that Owen is wearing his John Deere boots again-he pretty much only takes them off to sleep!

We hope you all are enjoying the cooler weather as much as we are!

This past weekend, Jacob and I traveled to East Texas to a friend's wedding. I met Kristin during my freshman year at OBU and she remains a dear friend. I was lucky enough to get to be a part of the wedding, which despite a bit of nausea on my part, was a true joy! The story of how she and Ryan met is so precious and undeniably written by a God who loves his children so much. Ask me about it sometime-I'd be happy to tell you the whole story!

Here are a few pictures of my sweet boy. I mean, this kid makes me smile daily-not because he's trying to, just because of who he is. He's so carefree and curious and too much fun.
Here he is spying on the neighbors. Just kidding. He's actually looking for the dogs that have since moved. Thank goodness because they sounded pretty ferocious!
Here he is working at his tool bench. I really like that he puts his hat on-safety first!

Sorry for the lack of posting. Honestly, I haven't taken too many pictures of Owen lately-it's difficult to photograph a moving target! Also, I've been dealing with a fair amount of nausea. It's thrown me for a loop because I was not sick at all when I was pregnant with Owen-I had the easiest pregnancy. Anyway, I'm hoping in the next few weeks that will all subside and I'll feel a little more normal. I'm sure Jacob will appreciate that-my house is a mess and cooking has been a little challenging since some foods really gross me out! Oh, well. Life goes on and sometimes eating peanut butter and jelly for dinner is totally acceptable. ;)
