Dancing Machine

One of Owens latest tricks is dancing. He's so much fun to watch that I try to get him grooving every chance I get. (Sorry its sideways again...)

Jacob took his PE exam for the first time in April of this year. Even though Owen helped him study, he did not pass. Well, he took his exam again on Owen's 1st Birthday in October and we are happy to report Jacob passed! If you look at the link, his name is on the right (ID #93277).

Words cannot express our excitement. Jacob has been working toward this for 8 years! We are grateful to God and thankful for the prayers and support from family and friends.

Owen Thomas had a Farm...E-I-E-I-O.

Owen got this farm from his Nana, Grandpa David and Uncle Cade. He really likes it. When he opens the doors, it makes animal sounds. I hope he starts trying to make the sounds, too. That would be funny. Here's one of my favorite videos of a little boy making sheep sounds.

Talking to Papa and Meme

Owen knows how to hold the phone correctly, but actual verbal communication is rare when he's on the phone. This picture was taken tonight when he was 'talking' to his Papa and Meme Hill. He looked so cute, but they couldn't see him (or hear him). We wanted them to see what we saw on our end of the line.

Owen REALLY loves to stir. This particular night he was cooking some pain reliever.

Wanted: Haircut

Look at all that crazy hair! We are going to Russellville for a few days next week, so maybe Auntie Ams can tame that mess.

Notice his nose? It's getting better quickly. The checker at Kroger noticed that it looked better today-we obviously spend too much time there.

Top Chef

Owen always wants to help me cook-he likes to stir stuff. It was starting to be a problem, so I put a little bit of water in the metal mixing bowl and gave him a whisk. Now he's occupied while I cook lunch or dinner. Here he is showing off his culinary skills.

Fun at the Park

Owen and I took advantage of the beautiful weather last week and spent an afternoon at the park. He was more interested in all the crunchy leaves and other kids than the actual playground. Here's a picture of him examining a leaf-he was fascinated.

First Official Wound

Walking can be a little tricky.
Owen was playing outside on Thanksgiving and took a little spill. It hasn't seemed to bother him too much and his nose is healing quite nicely. Toddlers are tough.

Uncle Cade's Presents

Owen's Uncle Cade got Guitar Hero World Tour for his birthday. Owen wanted to sing vocals...or eat the microphone.

It's Beginning...

...to look a lot like Christmas! I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week! It's my favorite holiday because I LOVE food and LOVE to eat, so I don't want to bypass it. However, I did find this picture of Owen from last Christmas and wanted to share it. Too funny. I am so mean.

Mr. Fix-it

Owen is just like his daddy. He likes tools and gadgets and electronics. His grandpa Bruce knows this about him (and shares this interest), so he gave him this fun tool set for his birthday. Maybe he'll turn into a little Mr. Fix-it. That would be fun.

Dog

Owen's Grandpa Bruce (my dad) is a very talented woodcarver. When we were visiting him a few weeks ago, Owen pointed to this carving and said, "dog." His Grandpa Bruce was so impressed that he gave the carving to Owen for his birthday. The dog now stays in Owen's room and I can hear him on the monitor most mornings saying, "dog, dog, dog, dog, dog, dog..."

Presley's Party

Owen really enjoyed Presley Hill's party. Especially her toys!

Walking

Owen has been working on walking for about a month, but he has finally gotten the hang of it. This video was taken a little over a week ago, so he's even improved since then!

He wore his costume ALL night and never fussed at all! It's probably because I've been making him wear it for 2 months in preparation.

Happy First Birthday, Owen!

One year ago today, we met for the first time a sweet little boy who would change our world as we knew it. It has been so fun to watch him grow from a tiny baby to a little independent boy.

Visiting the Grandparents

Owen spent this past weekend at his Gran and Grandpa Bruce's house. It was his first weekend away and he did great! Mom and Dad enjoyed their little vacation, too! Here he is making sure I packed everything he needed-thanks for the help, Owen!

He really loves bananas. He would eat 5 a day if I let him. When he sees me pick them up at the grocery store he tries to grab them from me. It's a serious problem-I mean, look at that face.

David

Last weekend we stopped by the Brewer house to see how they were doing. David was born about a week before Owen so they are good friends. David likes to be up-side-down and Owen thought that was so funny.

Back from Fayetteville

We had a really good time while we were away. Although we cheered really hard, the HOGS lost... bad.

We are heading to Razorback City to camp with my parents this weekend. I don't know how good the game is going to be, but (as you can see) we are ready to cheer for the HOGS.
